Monkey labour in coconut harvesting is a real and documented practice in parts of South East Asia. Trained monkeys are used to climb trees and harvest coconuts at scale — an animal welfare issue the industry has been slow to address.
Cocofina has never sourced from regions where this practice occurs. We know our farmers. We have worked with the same sourcing relationships for over 20 years. This is not a claim made on the basis of third-party audits alone — it is knowledge built over two decades of direct relationships.
No guar gum. No xanthan gum. Nothing added.
Most coconut milk on the market contains 50% coconut or less. At that concentration, the product separates — so manufacturers add guar gum or xanthan gum to stabilise it and create the appearance of consistency.
Cocofina Coconut Milk contains 76% organic coconut. At that concentration, stabilisers are not needed. The product is thick, rich, and consistent because of what is in it — not because of what has been added to it.
